Australia's first boutique winery, Lake's Folly was established in 1963 by surgeon and visionary Dr Max Lake in the Hunter Valley. The estate broke with convention by producing Cabernet Sauvignon — then considered unsuitable for the Hunter — alongside what would become one of Australia's most revered Chardonnays. Today under Fogarty Hall stewardship, Lake's Folly continues to honour Dr Lake's legacy with wines of singular character: the White (Chardonnay) and Red (Cabernet blend) that have defined Australian wine collecting for six decades.
